Sherilyn Bambridge

Manitoba & Northwestern Ontario District

Sherilyn Bambridge

As a “missionary kid,” Sherilyn discovered the greatness of God as she watched ordinary adults in extraordinary situations trust their heavenly Father.

She attended college in Saskatoon, Sask., but was unable to complete the program when she became ill with diphtheria, which she had contracted in Africa. She returned to Manitoba where she married Jim Bambridge. They settled in Brandon, where they have been active members of a PAOC church for 33 years.

Sherilyn is a graduate of Brandon University with a bachelor’s degree in education. She was a middle-school teacher for 23 years. She was elected as the president of the Brandon Teacher’s Association, elected to the provincial executive of the Manitoba Teacher’s Society, and is presently an elected member of the Provincial Executive of the Manitoba School Board Association. She also serves as a school board trustee. Sherilyn now facilitates a program where her role is to help broken, unemployed people change their life path.

Sherilyn has served in nursery ministry, children’s church, youth ministry, mothers’ ministry and has led small groups. She is on the missions committee and leads worship at Bethel Christian Assembly. She volunteers at Manhattan Beach Retreat Centre and sits on the Board of Governors for Horizon College and Seminary. The Bambridges have been on six short-term missions trips. Her son is an elder of the church and her daughter serves as a missionary.
