Rev. Stephen Hertzog

Regional Director - Eurasia

Rev. Stephen Hertzog

Born and raised in a Jewish family in Montreal, Quebec, Steve accepted Christ at the age of 18. Earning Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from McGill University, Steve served as a full-time pastor and part-time college teacher in Montreal and then in Edmonton, Alberta, for eight years. In 1993, he started a 22-year ministry at Vanguard College in Edmonton, first as a professor and dean of students, then president of the school. In his 14 years as president, Steve led the college through several significant transitions: a name change, a debt-free multimillion dollar campus purchase and renovation, the addition of Bachelor of Arts degrees in Theology, and historic expansion of scholarship funds and enrolment. During this time, he also led several short-term missions teams to Europe and Africa.

Since Fall 2015, Steve has served as the Regional Director for The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC) missions in Eurasia. He oversees and empowers 60 wonderful global workers engaged in “Reaching, Planting, Equipping & Caring” in 22 nations from Siberia in Russia to Spain, England to Israel. Steve’s passion is developing a healthy and effective team of leaders, churches and colleges to impact Eurasia with the gospel. Steve and Patti, his wife and best friend of 35 years, are also blessed to have three awesome daughters and six amazing grandchildren … with #7 on the way!
