PAOC Prayer - Your Update for the Week of August 17, 2020

Re-revised PAOC Prayer Banner

PAOC Prayer is a weekly communication of prayer requests sent from the PAOC International Office in Mississauga, Ont. To download a PDF version of PAOC Prayer, please click here.

Join us this week in praying for these specific needs in our nation, our world, and in our PAOC family of workers, both internationally and in Canada. If you have received this communication as a forwarded message and want to sign up for weekly prayer updates, click here.

ONTARIO—CANADA
A forest fire is causing destruction in Red Lake, Ontario, and has prompted the evacuation of approximately 3,800 people to date. Pray that God will pour rain upon the area so that the fire will be brought under control, and that He will protect and strengthen the firefighters and first responders. Pray also that God will comfort and encourage the people in the affected area, and that He will guide and provide for evacuated residents.

YEMEN
Please continue to pray for everyone affected by Yemen’s ongoing civil war. Pray that the violence will cease, and that peace will reign throughout the nation. Pray that aid supplies will get to those who need it most, as ERDO is working with local partners to distribute food. Pray also for those affected by COVID-19 who cannot depend on the health system, which has collapsed due to medical centre bombings.

B. & C. C.
SOUTHEAST ASIA
Pray that God will bless and guide this family of five people as they do business as ministry through a café in a Restricted Access Nation. Pray that they will have more opportunities within their network to share their hope in Christ. Pray for the leaders of their country as religious restrictions increase. Pray also that their teenage children will be encouraged as they are often lonely.

WORLDWIDE
Please continue to pray for God’s intervention in the spread of the coronavirus, which has infected more than 21,516,760, and killed nearly 766,665 people around the world.1 Pray for healing for those stricken with COVID-19, and comfort for those whose loved ones have passed away. May God continually strengthen and protect frontline and essential workers. Pray that, as many countries are easing some restrictions, their economies will respond well, and there will not be a second wave of the virus. Pray for protection and provision for people in developing countries who are malnourished and more vulnerable to this disease. Pray also for PAOC global workers who are remaining in the countries where they have been called to minister, and who are continuing to serve their communities with excellence during this global pandemic.
