As a PAOC family, here’s how we’re praying this month. Along with our monthly prayer focus, visit www.everydayfaith.ca for encouragement in the disciplines of Bible reading, prayer, generosity and sharing our faith in word and deed. Thank you for your continued participation in Every Day Faith.

Over 200 million Christians around the world are persecuted for their faith in Jesus. As a part of our annual focus each November on the Persecuted Church, International Missions invites you to pray for the top 50 nations where persecution of Christians exists. November 11, 2018 is the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. Please take some time in your services to acknowledge and pray for our brothers and sisters who suffer and are persecuted every day. Visit http://forthesilenced.paoc.org for more information.

November – Missional Vitality – Pray

Key Everyday Thought:

God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs (Matthew 5:10).

Pray

Ask and it will be granted…

– That Christians worldwide will stand firm and faithful to God’s Word
– That those suffering for their faith will keep their eyes on Christ
– That God will deliver those who live in fear of death
– That God will change the hearts of persecutors to understand the gospel
– That Christ’s church will continue to grow and prosper

PASSAGES TO PONDER
2 Corinthians 12:10
“That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

Romans 8:35
“Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?”

Matthew 5:43-44
“You have heard the law that says, ‘Love your neighbor’ and hate your enemy. But I say, love your enemies!”

John 15:18-19
“If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you.”

Psalm 31:15
“My future is in your hands.
Rescue me from those who hunt me down relentlessly.”

Romans 8:17-22
“And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.

“Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are. Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope, the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay. For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.”
