March – Theological Vitality – Read, Share

Key Everyday Thought:

Jesus is the resurrection and the life, and anyone who believes in Him will live, even after dying (John 11:25).

The message of the gospel is called good news because it applies to everyone, whatever their age, background or circumstances. Every Easter, our churches welcome many people who may only visit once or twice a year. Some may never have been to church at all. They may be living out a season of great joy and contentment in their life journey, or they may be experiencing tremendous turmoil. We have this message of hope to offer each one who comes—that there is life beyond what we are experiencing now, and that when we put our faith in Christ for the forgiveness of our sins, we can experience true freedom—peace with God, and life after death, for eternity. As we approach yet another Easter celebration, let’s ask God to deepen our own appreciation each day for the life-changing message we have already heard and accepted, and for the boldness to share it with others as we are given opportunities.

PASSAGES TO PONDER

John 12:23-25

“Jesus replied, ‘The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life.’”

Isaiah 55:1-2

“Is anyone thirsty?

Come and drink—

even if you have no money!

Come, take your choice of wine or milk—

it’s all free!

Why spend your money on food that does not give you strength?

Why pay for food that does you no good?

Listen to me, and you will eat what is good.

You will enjoy the finest food.”

John 16:33

“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

1 John 2:17

“And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.”

Ask and it will be granted…

– That Canadians’ hearts everywhere will be opened to the gospel

– That the gospel will be preached in the Spirit’s power throughout Canada

– That those seeking hope and truth will find it

– That those in bondage will find freedom in Christ

– That God will grant believers continued boldness to share their faith
