PAOC Prayer - Your Update for the Week of June 29, 2020

Re-revised PAOC Prayer Banner

PAOC Prayer is a weekly communication of prayer requests sent from The PAOC International Office in Mississauga, Ont. To download a PDF version of PAOC Prayer, please click here.

Join us this week in praying for these specific needs in our nation, our world, and in our PAOC family of workers, both internationally and in Canada. If you have received this communication as a forwarded message and want to sign up for weekly prayer updates, click here.

CANADA
As we celebrate the birth of our nation on Canada Day (July 1), may God pour out His Spirit in a fresh and powerful way, touching hearts and changing lives across Canada. Pray that many Canadians will encounter God and the gospel in new ways and decide to follow Jesus, and that they will be empowered by His Spirit. Pray that neighbourhoods will be transformed as people celebrate and care for one another. Pray also for our federal, provincial and municipal leaders as they work together and make decisions for the benefit of the country.

NURSING HOMES/LONG-TERM CARE FACILITIES
Pray that the seniors and staff in nursing homes and long-term care facilities throughout Canada will be protected from the coronavirus. Pray that these facilities will be managed well and that they will be able to keep any COVID-19 cases under control. Pray also that residents and their families will sense God’s comfort, peace and encouragement as they are currently mostly separated from each other.

REOPENING CHURCHES
Please continue to pray as more churches are opening across Canada while adhering to strict requirements in line with their size and location. Pray that God will encourage pastors, leaders and their staff as they prepare for services each week. Pray that, as some people attend in-person while others continue to participate online, they will hear and receive encouragement and instruction from God’s Word, experience transformation in their lives, and be empowered by His Spirit. Pray also for the health, safety and protection of everyone attending or serving at the churches.

WORLDWIDE
Pray continually for God to intervene in the spread of COVID-19, which has infected more than 10,021,400, and killed nearly 500,000 people around the world.1 Pray for healing for those infected, and comfort for those who have lost loved ones. Ask God to strengthen and protect frontline and essential workers and to grant peace to their families who are concerned for them. Pray that, as many countries begin to ease restrictions, their economies will respond well and new infections will be limited. Pray for extra protection for people in developing countries who are already malnourished and more vulnerable to this disease. Pray also for the hundreds of PAOC global workers who have remained in the country of their calling, serving their communities and displaying the love of Christ throughout this global pandemic.
