MISSION CANADA CULTURAL APPRENTICE

This Mission Canada apprentice grew up with an interest in different cultures—the clothing, food, languages, and traditions. This curiosity has never left them. Over the past several years, they have had the opportunity to meet newcomers from the Middle East in different Canadian cities and has grown loving them. One of their many experiences has been as an English teacher to newcomers in the city of Edmonton. As this apprentice learned about their religion, their heart broke for them to be exposed to the truth. Their worldview is a master-servant belief system, so far from the beautiful, loving relationship we have with our Lord Jesus. God doesn't want us to stay just within our Christian circles; we are also called to step into the world of others.
This apprentice senses the call for further equipping in ministering to Middle Eastern immigrants. They feel called to step into their world to listen, to love, to serve, and to carry God's light to those who don't yet know Christ.
As a result, this apprentice will be serving nine months with an established ministry in the Edmonton area. They will specifically be serving newcomer women, teaching English, and engaging in discipleship. This apprenticeship includes formal theological, historical and cultural worldview studies with research projects and practical application.
