LOCATION: Guatemala 

TRANSFORMATIONAL IMPACT: My dream is to build meaningful relationships and provide for the educational and spiritual needs of the children and their families involved with ChildCARE Plus Guatemala.

MINISTRY FOCUS: Out of a population of 17 million, more than 50% of the residents in Guatemala live below the poverty line. Despite education typically being free, many families often can’t afford school uniforms, supplies, and miscellaneous fees. Moreover, over 70% of secondary schools are private, requiring families to pay tuition. Because of this, many students don’t finish education past grade six.

Through the ministry of ChildCARE Plus (CCP), lives are being transformed every day. CCP Guatemala currently serves over 600 children across 15 locations, providing not only access to education, but also nutrition, care, and—most importantly—the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.

I am currently serving alongside Global Workers Hector and Ruth Aragon, helping with the administration of the CCP program and focusing on building strong relationships with our partner schools and local Assembly of God churches.

In the coming year, as Hector and Ruth Aragon transition back to Canada, I will be stepping into a greater leadership role and will take over the ChildCARE Plus program in Guatemala. This transition will ensure continuity and continued growth as we pursue God’s vision for reaching and discipling children across the country.

 MINISTRY HISTORY: before becoming a Global worker I served for 12 years as a children’s director to many precious children. During the time, I obtained my Diploma in Bible Studies from Emmanuel Bible College. I have also worked at McDonald’s for over 20 years, working with teams of various ages, cultural backgrounds, and life experiences. I have always loved missions, participating in many short-term mission trips to such places as Attawapiskat in northern Ontario, Ukraine, Honduras, and Guatemala (six times).

PRAYER REQUESTS:

• This year I am stepping into full-time ministry alongside the Aragon’s as they transition back to Canada, and I ask for prayer for a smooth, grace-filled transition marked by unity, wisdom, and clear direction as I honor their faithful work.
• Please pray that God will direct me to build strong partnerships with schools, teachers, and local Assembly of God churches.
• For God to help the children in ChildCARE Plus successfully complete their education while growing in their relationship with Jesus.
