Dan Collado, along with his wife, Belinda, has been serving the Lord in full-time ministry since 1993. They initially took a step of faith and went to live and pastor in small isolated fly-in Indigenous communities in northern Ontario, and later in Nunavut. After some 15 years of pastoral ministry, while continuing to feel the burden for Indigenous initiatives, Dan accepted the role as Academic Director of Aboriginal Bible Academy (ABA) in 2009.

The origin of ABA began in the late 1970’s. Then known as National Native Bible College, its original purpose was the training of First Nations people to become effective communicators of the gospel. Its expanded mandate is now to serve all First Peoples of Canada (First Nations, Métis and Inuit) with the purpose of helping to train and equip Indigenous leadership for Christian ministry. Whether that ministry originates from the pulpit or the pew, ABA has the training resources to equip every Indigenous believer for effective Christian service.

There are almost 1.7 million Indigenous Peoples in Canada, stretching from sea to sea and to our nation’s northern sea. While not all are called to be pastors, teachers, and evangelists, all are called to be ministers of the gospel. By serving the Christian Indigenous community across Canada, ABA is training the found so that the trained found can find the lost. This is the heart and vision that Dan and Belinda carry through their efforts with Aboriginal Bible Academy, and they invite you to stand together with them.
