Ben is a recent graduate from engineering at the University of British Columbia (UBC), who was transformed by Christ to share the gospel to his peers. In the summer of 2024, Ben was working as a robotics intern in Montreal, QC, when he discovered an intellectual atheism that challenged his faith – and he began a downward spiral into existential doubt that led to his deconversion. But not all hope was lost. Just in one phone call, Ben’s close community – UCM@UBC – showed him the light of Jesus that dispels all fear, and he confessed faith once more.
Ever since, Ben has been on a mission to shine Christ’s light on the secular thinking of our own age, as he invites friends to evangelize on UBC campus, talks one-on-one with deconverts, and publishes videos bolstering the faith online. Having been propped up by University Christian Ministries (UCM), he now wants to disciple students into the full beauty and truth of the faith he almost left. This is through bible studies, public evangelism with signs, online evangelism, and guiding students in their intellectual and spiritual learning.
