They presently have 250 - 275 kids and youth per week in our programs (100 - 150 more in programs / events renting space in our building). 100 of them attend the church kids ministry and youth group. A focus there is on community transformation. Undercurrent is the communities main addiction prevention centre. Over 55% of young adult males in their community had a alcohol problem and the amount of needles being exchanged in our safe needle programs has gone up 25% every year for the past six years. This puts some perspective on the community where Undercurrent is working and the need here. The youth centre is run by one part time staff and of volunteers.
