Wetastikin Lighthouse church in Alberta Canada is current looking for their next lead pastor. Wetaskiwin is a small city located about 40 minutes south of Edmonton. LightHouse’s Mission statement of “Come, Live, Be” is lived out by our church in several ways: Come to the Light: • The first priority in any of our lives is to come to Jesus –a choice we make every day. • A relationship with Jesus and knowing the Word through study and prayer is part of coming to the Light. • We are a welcoming congregation, and have an accepting atmosphere • We are a naturally diverse congregation. • We are a ‘come as you are’ family – there is NO dress code – formal or informal. • Our services end with a clear presentation of the Gospel and an invitation to Come to the Light’ Live in the Light: • We value solid Scriptural teaching that addresses HOW to live in the Light • We value teaching and preaching that does not skirt the issue of sin and repentance – so that we can consistently Live in the Light (1 John 1:5-10) • We value our children and put a high priority on our Children’s and Youth Ministries. • Living in the light includes fellowship with one another. We provide opportunities in this area through: - Ladies’ Bible Study (On Zoom during restrictions) - Weekly Care Groups in homes (or on Zoom during restrictions) - a weekly prayer meeting, (also on Zoom during Covid) - weekly informal time for moms/caregivers and their children (when café can be open) Be the Light A major focus of our church has been reaching out to our community to BE THE LIGHT and to offer hope in the darkness of our society. What we Expect for the Future: • We are currently working with Alberta Mental Health Services to offer online (and later, in person) ‘workshops’ on dealing with mental health issues to the community. • We desire to expand and improve our ‘online presence’. • Continue with the relationships built with the Homeless population • We would like to see the people of LightHouse grow deep in their faith and their knowledge of truth, according to Col 2:7-8 so that they can disciple others who come to Jesus. • We would like to encourage and teach people to move in the gifts of the Holy Spirit
• Are you the leader described in Titus 1:6-9? • Do you have a heart for discipleship? • Do you move in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and desire to see others do so? • Are you able to relate to the marginalized of our society? • Comfortable with any ethnicity or culture? • Able to work with secular community groups ? • Are you a ‘forward thinker’, a leader with vision, who is able to look to and develop our online presence and ministry?
You must be credentialed (or able to be credentialed) with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada.
