English Teacher & Campus Ministry

Vietnam

Purpose

There are endless opportunities in this rapidly developing country for those with a self-starter attitude and the ability to create opportunities! Although some of the population are Buddhist, Vietnam is unique in Asia with a majority registering as non-religious/atheist. Learning English is an identified need among the Vietnamese, so you can earn an income while engaging in campus ministry at the same time. Campus ministry is also a massive opportunity in South Vietnam, where there is an ongoing government initiative to bring many of the major universities into a single location. As many as 400,000 students will be living in one city.

Skills

A bachelor's degree in any field plus a TESOL certificate is required in order to qualify for a teaching visa, but TESOL courses are also available in-country. Experience with young adult or campus ministry an asset. Ability to build friendships, personal initiative and a sense of adventure will be required. This opportunity is available for both volunteers (8-month minimum) and those who are considering long-term engagement.

Support

Orientation would be provided by the team leader including coaching, ministry and cultural orientation, and help getting set up to live in the city.

Our Mission Global team will walk with you along the way – from application to deployment. Training, administrative support and mission coaching will be provided, along with assistance for promotional and fundraising efforts.
