It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of a choice servant and exceptional Kingdom leader, Tan Sri Rev. Dr. Prince Guneratnam.  Prince went home to be with the Lord earlier this week after a lengthy illness. Please keep the Guneratnam family and Calvary Church, Malaysia, in your prayers as they remember and honour our wonderful brother and friend.

Dr. Prince Guneratnam served as the senior pastor of Calvary Church, a strong missions church that meets at the Calvary Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He served on various ministries and advisory boards both nationally and internationally, including serving as the general superintendent-emeritus of the Assemblies of God of Malaysia, and regional director of the Church Growth International (CGI) for Southeast Asia.  Dr. Guneratnam founded, established, and instituted several humanitarian ministries. In recognition of his meritorious service, he was conferred with the honorific title of “Tan Sri” by the King of Malaysia in 2008.  Dr. Guneratnam served as the chairman of the Pentecostal World Fellowship (PWF) from 2010 – 2019.  He was an honorary member of the PWF Advisory Committee and, a member of the Empowered21 Global Council at the time of his passing.

A farewell service in “Celebration of a Life Well-lived” was held at 11:30 a.m. on September 10, 2022, at Calvary Convention Centre.  In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested a thanksgiving gift that will go toward the work of the Kingdom. For more information or to contact the church please go to www.calvary.my.

On a personal note, I treasured Prince’s fellowship and was honoured to serve with him in various ways over the years. He was faithful in all of his work and a friend to thousands. As his name states, he was a Prince of a man.  His ministry reached around the globe and God used him to make a profound difference for Christ. His graciousness and warm spirit will be missed among us. Our prayers will continue for his wife Petrina and his entire family in the days ahead.

Sincerely,

Dr. William M. Wilson
