Join us this week in praying for these specific needs in our nation, our world, and in our PAOC family of workers, both internationally and in Canada. If you have received this communication as a forwarded message and want to sign up for weekly prayer updates, click here.

CANADA – ALBERTA
Pray for the thousands of people impacted by recent flooding in Alberta, caused by ice jams blocking rivers. At least 13,000 residents were forced to flee their homes in and around Fort McMurray in late April. More than 3,000 remain displaced, and the damage is estimated to be at least $100 million. Many of the people affected also lost their homes in the catastrophic 2016 wildfire, which caused significant trauma and losses in the region. Pray that God will strengthen and guide people in the affected areas as they clean up the damage. May they also be comforted and encouraged as they try to recover in the aftermath.

OUR FELLOWSHIP
Pray that God will continue to encourage a spirit of unity and purpose throughout our Fellowship following our General Conference on May 5, where David Wells was re-elected to the role of general superintendent. Pray that God will grant our leaders continued wisdom and favour as they lead the Fellowship in its mission to make disciples everywhere. Pray for encouragement, guidance and boldness for our pastors and ministry leaders as they navigate the COVID-19 crisis and care for their congregations and communities while sharing the love of Christ.

WORLDWIDE
Pray continually for God to intervene in the spread of COVID-19, which has infected almost 4,140,000, and killed more than 285,000 people around the world. Pray for healing for those infected, and comfort for those who have lost loved ones. Ask God to strengthen and protect frontline and essential workers and to grant peace to their families who are concerned for them. Pray that, as many countries begin to ease restrictions, their economies will respond well. Pray also for extra protection for people in developing countries who are already malnourished.

Sheldon & Anna Armitage
SLOVAKIA
Pray for growth in the churches in Bratislava and throughout Slovakia. Pray for protection when Sheldon and Anna travel around Europe, ministering to other missionaries and leaders. Pray for Sheldon as he engages with students at Gateway College, and for Anna as she serves at the International Church. Pray also for the health and safety of Sheldon, Anna and their three children.
