2008 General Conference Business

February 28, 2008

Dear Member of the 2008 General Conference:

Warmest greetings!

General Conference in Toronto, Ontario is only two months away and, hopefully, you will be able to attend.

In preparation for the business of the conference, Article 13 of the General Constitution and By-Laws of The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada requires notice of the public posting of proposed amendments to the constitution be mailed, to each member of the General Conference, not later than 60 days prior to the General Conference.

ARTICLE 13 AMENDMENTS

Amendments to the constitution may be made at any regularly called session of the General Conference, provided that the proposed amendment shall have been submitted 90 days prior thereto, in writing, through the Assistant Superintendent for Fellowship Services, to the General Executive. Notice of the public posting of proposed amendments on The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada web site shall be mailed to each member of the General Conference (Article 7) not later than 60 days prior to the General Conference. A printed copy will be mailed to any member of the General Conference upon request. Amendments to the constitution shall require a two-thirds vote of all members present and voting.

Resolutions supporting the proposed amendments to both the General Constitution and By-Laws and the Local Church Constitution and By-Laws are now available on The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada website at www.paoc.org > Fellowship Services > General Conference.

Currently, posted on the website of The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada:

1. One proposed resolution for the Articles of the General Constitution and By-Laws. Resolution #1 (for your convenience, this is printed on the reverse side of this letter)

2. Nineteen proposed resolutions to the by-laws of the General Constitution and By-Laws. Resolutions #2 - #21

3. One proposed resolution to the Local Church Constitution and By-Law. Resolution #23.

A final version of all resolutions will be included in the conference handbook.

The General Constitution and By-Laws does make provision for a printed copy of the by-law resolutions upon request. If you desire to have these mailed to you, please contact Laura Redman at the International Office at 905-542-7400 ext. 3251 or lredman@paoc.org.

May the Lord's blessing be upon us as we prepare for the forthcoming sessions in Toronto, May 5 - 9, 2008.

Sincerely,

David E. Hazzard
Assistant Superintendent for Fellowship Services
