Profile
Peter DeWit: Peter wonders joyfully how the heck he got to this after 17 years of missionary in Thailand - be the Pastor of an international church called: NewSong! This is a Third-culture community of Thais and Ex-pats. As for Peter, he is kind of zany with a serious nature. Having a little brother who got taller was a challenge, maybe that's why he is so competitive! He loves golf, jazz music and his wife and five kids, not quite in that order! Lifting weights is a desire-to be-more-than-a-once-a-week hobby, light on the mind (de-stress) and heavy on the bod...(Young forever!) Give Peter a nice sandy beach and a sunset to relax by and he's almost in his perfect world! But if you want to bless Peter invite him for a tender "medium" steak dinner and he'll be really pleased. This dutch born Canadian wants nothing more to see God move in the next ten years in Asia and then maybe live in Southern California when he is 60+ and learn how to surf! (I have become allergic to snow lol!)
Patricia Dewit: Canadian born, but after 16 years in Thailand, Patricia is ‘Canasian’. Is there anything new under the sun? Not really, except for the next moments that haven’t arrived yet. Moments add up to days, add up to weeks, add up to months and years, so let’s live the future by “collecting the moments one by one”. Patricia’s moments are filled with family; Peter, her 5 kids (3 who still live at home) and her growing NewSong Bangkok family. With a bit of a messy background, Patricia’s passion shows up when she sees a place to speak Life and Hope into other messy lives.
Peter and Patricia have five amazing kids... only two are left at home, Amanda 12 years and Alycia who is almost 10!
