Derek and Irislee, (along with their four kids, Ellie, Isaac, Hannah and Olivia) will be working with Imagine Thailand, under the direction of Peter & Cavelle Dove. Our focus, will be on working with Burmese refugee children in Mae Sot, a town on the Thai/Myanmar border. The relief and development projects we will be managing are: 1. Installing water purification systems in migrant schools ~benefiting both students and surrounding community members 2. Creating a loaner library of educational kits that can be shared among the migrant schools 3. Addressing the issue of statelessness by developing "life books" ~compiling pictures and personal information into books for the purpose of aiding children when an opportunity arises to receive citizenship.
