Next Generation: Youth
Vision
To passionately maximize every opportunity to extend our influence to use and/or create environments where next generation disciple-makers are recognized, readied and released to pioneer Jesus to Canada and the world. The PAOC's National Youth/Young Adult Ministry Leadership has been reinvented to meet the demands of a new millennium. The role of the National Youth/Young Adult Director was replaced with a leadership model that features the shared vision and cooperation of the eight
PAOC District Church Ministries Directors. These eight leaders work as a part of Mission Canada's youth guiding group using a mission-based model of ministry.
Values
- Be vision and values oriented
- Be responsive (ready to adapt; ready to engage culture)
- Be mission directed (understand "why" and "how")
- Emphasize God's Kingdom principles
- Facilitate Canada's youth to love God, others, and to make a difference
- Cooperate within a flexible structure
.
The new model emphasizes mutual trust and the releasing of district and local leaders to use their God-given talents and skills. It focuses on relationships and mentorship at national and district levels. It recognizes that each national, district and local church youth leader has equal value to serve.

The Life Campaign
Opportunity is a key factor in the development of outstanding people. The Beatles honed their musical skills while playing eight-hour-long concerts every night for weeks. Bill Gates learned to program computers as a young teen because he had the opportunity to access a powerful machine for free each week. Every young person deserves an opportunity to make a difference in the world and find meaning.
The LIFE campaign provides an opportunity for teens and young adults to engage in real needs in the world in practical ways—by giving funds to provide fresh water, by engaging in relationships with the PAOC global workers located near that fresh water, and by working alongside them for short terms. It is in opportunities such as these that outstanding young people can be developed into outstanding missionaries.
The LIFE campaign will provide seventy-eight sources of clean water by the Spring of 2011 thorugh the $475,000 raised in the last three years through this youth-led initiative.
It is still to be seen how many young lives will be inspired by LIFE and will follow God's call as a mission worker.
Since 2008, Mission Canada, International Missions, and ERDO have been working together to bring positive change to struggling communities, and to expose youth to the needs of the world around them. The Life Campaign is the direct result of their co-operation, and your gifts. Through their efforts, the life campaign has been hard at work bringing water and the Gospel to the places where they are needed most, and getting youth involved at most every step.
